How to Use Leopard Pattern?
Patterns Sep 02, 2018
Hello again 🙂 Today’s topic is about the use of leopard pattern. Maybe the most challenging pattern for us to combine is the leopard. As it is somewhat striking pattern, it is often difficult to predict which pieces of feminine, masculine or sporty style could be combined with it. I think leopard can be used in every way. You just need to make minor changes considering where you go and what your style is. Sometimes it could be used in small pieces or accessories, sometimes it could be used in big pieces.
If you look at the designs of brands like Roberto Cavalli, Dolce Gabbana, Isabel Marant and Stella McCartney, you can understand that it isn’t hard to dare to wear leopard in current fashion. Now the new stream isn’t a brave leopard or femme fatale like the old, but it is modern and innovative…
What should be considered when using leopard?
As far as I concern, the first thing you need to pay attention is not to match a leopard pattern with another leopard pattern. Because less leopard is actually more 🙂 For example, maybe you can combine skirt and jacket, which have the same pattern, because it seems as a whole. However, you shouldn’t combine leopard patterned shoes with bag, or pants with shoes.
Another point that you need to be aware of when choosing a leopard pattern is that it shouldn’t seem artificial. As it looks more natural, so it will seem nicer. The color in the background and the leopard patterns on it should be integrated. It’s not nice to seem as sharp patterns.
You should pay attention to that the leopard pattern is not excessively small or big. Extremely small patterns deter the leopard from showing itself. Very large patterns could block elegant appearance and make you seem bulkier than you are.
If you prefer a leopard patterned fabric, you shouldn’t forget that its spots should be different from each other just like fingerprints. Because it is the original leopard pattern.
In which clothes and how leopard should be used?
For those who are not accustomed to using leopard, it could be a good start to use them in scarfs, shoes and small bags.
Our magic wand to modernize leopard with only touch and to create a sporty style: Sneakers!
It’s a good idea to use leopard on shoes, but personally I don’t like its use in boots as I find it too wild, I think it’s nicer in stilettos, sandals or flat shoes.
For its use in bags, I recommend you use it in small bags rather than big bags. It could be a nice accessory option for your simple clothes.
When it has a nice harmony with your hair tone and it befits with your face shape, leopard patterned hats suit well.
I recommend you use leopard in wide cut pants, skirts or shirts rather than tights and body style narrow clothes. Likewise, if you prefer wide cut dresses rather than slim cuts, you will get a more elegant look.
You do not have to use leopard only in brown, also in cream and earth color tones. You can soften this flamboyant pattern by using its other colors.
Perhaps the most luxurious of leopard is its use in artificial fur coats. A pleasant leopard fur coat on your everyday combine can make you feel perfect on a cold winter day.
Leopard patterned loose dresses will be very good choice for summer. You can create a great style with flat sandals.
Which colors should be combined with leopard?
When it is leopard, the first color that comes to mind is of course the black. Since the black is one of the colors that the pattern contains, it is easy to integrate with it, so the black color becomes one of the risk-free options… If you consider that leopard is a remarkable pattern, it can be said that the black balances it.
I think white color has an interesting effect on the leopard. When it is combined with leopard, it seems as there is also white color in the leopard although it actually is not. Especially white sneakers are great with it. It is definitely worth trying 🙂
Of course, earth color tones that pattern itself contains, glorify leopard as the black does. There is not much to say, right?

It could be a good idea to combine leopard with jeans if you want to make this pattern a bit more insignificant and to adapt to everyday life. They always complete each other nicely.
Apart from the colors I mentioned about leopard, you can combine it with many colors such as pink, green, yellow etc. You can be very different and stylish, but the color suggestions above are much more ideal to get the most guaranteed combinations at the beginning for those who don’t like to take risks…
That’s what I can say about the leopard. Actually, the summary of this article can be “a little courage and modernizing the leopard.” My front, back, right and left became the leopard itself so that’s it for me 🙂 I hope you could benefit. See you in the next article 🙂
